These Operator Jobs Practices Analysis Surveys help RETA build the examinations to reflect the actual responsibilities / activities / risks and consequences found in the operator's duties and job.

There are TWO surveys.

      The CARO Survey speaks to the job requirements of a CARO Certified operator.

      The CIRO Survey speaks to the job requirements of a CIRO Certified operator.


Each survey explores two themes:   "What is the job to be done?" and; "What is the consequence and risk if someone doing these job tasks does not really know or understand the activity being done?"

      The CARO survey is intended for Entry Level Operators and is the shortest of the three surveys.

      The CIRO survey is intended for the experienced operator that has operational responsibility for the refrigeration system. The CIRO survey also asks CARO level questions since it is very common that a CIRO operator supervises CARO operators.
